Local groups, schools, and NGOs will meet to discuss what resources Kozani can offer.And determine how many people can be supported- around 50 to 60 refugees at first. These partnerships will ensure that housing, healthcare, and education are ready for every one arriving. -
When the first families arrive, the community will organize welcome events. Locals and refugees will share traditional dishes ,music and stories from their countries. Schools will take part by creating cultural days and art projects about friendship and diversity. These early moments of connection will help build trust and understanding. -
Language is the bridge between people. Greek lessons will be offered to adults, while children will join local schools with extra support. Greek students will act as mentors or stydy buddies in order to help their new classmates settle in easier. Teachers will also organise lessons about cultures and traditions from around the world to make learning more inclusive. -
Intrepreneurship can open doors for both refugees and residents. With guidance from local professionals, small projects in farming, cooking, and crafts can begin. Kozani is famous for its saffron and local produce, so refugees could help expand these industries or introduce new food products. This creates income and builds stronger economic ties within the town. -
Refugees and locals will take part in volunteer and improvement projects-such as- cleaning parks, painting puplic spaces, or creating community gardens. These shared goals make it easier for people to connect and appreciate each others efforts. Through teamwork, Kozani will become a more beautiful and united place to live. -
At the end of the first year, the group will review what worked best and what can improve. They will collects feedback from families, teachers, and local businesses. The goal is to make the program sustainable by creating a permanent center for refugee support and community exchange in Kozani. -
By welcoming refugees, Kozani will gain new energy, ideas, and friendships. Local businesses will grow, school will become more exclusive and people will learn hoe to leave together peacefully. The project will make Kozani a true example of solidarity and hope for other Greek towns
