Pyramid of Caius Cestius built
The pyramid of Caius Cestius was built in Rome as a tomb for Caius Cestius, a praetor, after the Roman conquest of Egypt in 31 BC. The conquest caused the Romans to be inspired by the funeral constructions of the Egyptians, leading to the Romans building some pyramids of their own. Four centuries after the tomb's construction, it was incorporated into a new city wall by order of Emperor Aureliano.

It got its name from the Aztecs, who visited the city long after it was abandoned. As a result, we do not know the original name of the pyramid. It is believed to be a temple to a Teotihuacan deity, although there is no proof as the temple that was on top of the pyramid has been destroyed.
