  • The Copernican Revolution

Kuhn published his book where he studied the heliocentric theory of the solar system (Thomas S. Kuhn | American Philosopher and Historian | Britannica). He believed that philosophical and religious beliefs played a role in scientific theories and reconstructed the Copernican theory around this which no other scientist had done (Thomas S. Kuhn | American Philosopher and Historian | Britannica).
  • Structure of the Scientific Revolution Created

In July of 1961 Kuhn created the structure of Scientific Revolutions. This included the this included his Paradigm concept which he received much negative feedback about for most of the 60's (Kuhn, Thomas S. | Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy). Kuhn was confident in this new structure he had created and continued to fight through the negative feedback. His new concept was a huge advance for science.
  • Kuhn Published His Structure

Kuhns structure was based off of a four-step concept plan that went as follows: Pre-paradigm Science, Normal Science, Extraordinary Science and finally finished with New Normal Science. The shift from Pre to Normal science was when a new general consensus was reached where one had not been reached before. The next shift came when the community recognized it. The last step came when a crisis occurred (Kuhn, Thomas S. | Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy).
  • International Colloquium in the Philosophy of Science

Kuhn participated in the International Colloquium. During his speech he compared his and Karl Poppers concepts in scientific growth. Popper, Watkins, and several others gave papers criticizing Kuhn's concept of a paradigm structure. Kuhn's structure was a major advancement in the structure of science (Kuhn, Thomas S. | Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy).
