The three witches meet in health, organizing when and where they would meet Macbeth to give him prophecy.

Banquo and Macbeth, on their way back from battle, are going by a heath when they meet up with the Three Witches. Their out with these prophecies, saying that Macbeth will become the Thane of Cawdor and future king. For Banquo, however, they say that he is 'lesser than Macbeth, but also greater', that he is less happy than him, but also happier and that his descendants will be kings, & he will not.
Banquo is pretty confused, whereas Macbeth is starting to let his head get to him. -
King Duncan, hearing of Banquo and, more importantly, Macbeth's valiant bravery in battle, awards the Thane of Glamis (Macbeth) the greater title of Thane of Cawdor after the old Thane turns out to be a traitor. Messengers rush off to give Macbeth the good news.

Lady Macbeth gets the servants drunk so they fall asleep. While Duncan is asleep, Macbeth murders his king. He then, brings the dagger back and Lady Macbeth hides the dagger in an attempt to frame the servants. Macbeth starts to feel super guilty.

King Duncan invites himself to Macbeth's castle to throw a big feast. Lady Macbeth, after receiving a letter from her husband telling her the new. She feels that killing Duncan will make her husband the 'rightful' king and her a respected queen. She then convinces the cautious Macbeth to kill the King, giving him a dagger to do the deed. Macbeth is unsure whether to do it, which is when Lady Macbeth says the famous line "unsex me now!" asking to make her a man so she can do the disgusting murder

Macduff discovers Duncan's corpse and then Macbeth is turned into the king.

Macduff flees to England to plot and try to kill Macbeth .

Banquo makes a realization that if Macbeth's prophecies have come true then maybe, his will too. Macbeth now thinks he must kill his friend Banquo and his son Fleance in order to stop him producing heirs that will kick him off the throne.

Macbeth starts going crazy.

Macbeth goes down to talk to the witches again, who give him 3 more prophecies:
- Beware MacDuff
-Nobody born from a woman will ever harm Macbeth.
-Macbeth will never be defeated until Birnam Wood marches to fight you at Dunsinane Hill. and with this, Macbeth feels pretty smug -
A doctor and servant spot Lady Macbeth walking in her sleep. She seems to be washing her hands, trying to get blood off them.She then reads the letter he sent her ages ago and kills herself.

MacDuff's army prepares for battle, cutting down trees from the forest of Birnam Wood (which is what the witches predicted) and using it as camouflage as they walk towards the castle

Macbeth, knowing that no one 'not of woman born' can harm him, asks the soldiers battling in his castle who is not of a woman born. MacDuff answers, saying he was of caesarian birth. He and Macbeth fight to the death, with MacDuff slaying Macbeth.

Now Macbeth is dead, MacDuff becomes King of Scotland
