    This trip took 2 years and many crew mates died through disease. Marco Polo brought items such as ivory, jewels, porcelain, and silk.

    Marco Polo was imprisoned after losing against a rival city called Genoa. While in prison he wrote a book about his adventures throughout the middle-east.
