In 1924, Harry's duaghter, Margaret was born. It was also the year thar he lost his reelection to judgeship in Jackson County.

In, 1944, Truman was elected Vice President of the United States! (He was elected under Roosevelt) This year was a very exciting one for Harry.

In 1945, Harry became the President of the United States after Roosevelt unexpectedly died on April 12th. Because of this, many people called him "An accidental president." Harry was also the one to decide to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima after the event at Pearl Harbor.

In 1948, Harry was reelected in a surprise victory, The victory was so surprising, a newspaper had already sent out copies saying "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN" Harry held the faulty headline up at a St. Louis train station, smiling.

In 1950, Harry was unhurt in a failed assassination attempt. This was also the year that the Korean War began.

In 1953, Harry left presidency. He could have went for reelection again, but he was very unpopular at the time. One reason was that he had fired one of the most popular Generals in the army, General Douglas MacArthur.
