Dennett publishes “Darwin’s Dangerous Idea” where he attempts to provide a mechanism for Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. In his writing, Dennett describes evolution as the product of an algorithmic process, not of a superior being, such as a God. This is one of the reasons why he was named a distinguished achiever by the Freedom From Religion Foundation and is referred to as one of the "Four Horsemen of New Atheism"
