09/14/1929	• General Francisco Franco’s Nationalist forces take control of Madrid (Spain), where he rules until his death in 1975.	In 1923 Franco replaced Millán Astray as commander of the Tercio de Extranjeros and over the next few years he gained a reputation as a brilliant strategist and administrator.
09/19/1931	The Japanese Army invades Manchuri	The Japanese invasion of Manchuria began on September 19, 1931, when Manchuria was invaded by the Kwantung Army of the Empire of Japan immediately following the Mukden Incident. The Japanese established a puppet state, called Manchukoku, and their occupation lasted until the end of World War II.
10/03/1935	Mussolini invaded Ethopia	Mussolini used Italian Somaliland as a base for invading Ethiopia, just as he would later use Albania as a base for invading Greece. Also, Italy controlled Libya, and Italy had a very large and modern air force in the 1930's. Ethiopia was not out of reach for Mussolini.
09/30/1938	Neville chamberlain mets with Hitler	The agreement was negotiated at a conference held in Munich, Germany, among the major powers of Europe without the presence of Czechoslovakia. Today, it is widely regarded as a failed act of appeasement toward Nazi Germany. The agreement was signed in the early hours of 30 September 1938 (but dated 29 September). The purpose of the conference was to discuss the future of the Sudetenland in the face of territorial demands made by Adolf Hitler.
09/01/1939	Hitler (Germany) invades Polnd, beginning WWII.	When Hitler invaded Poland, it took less than a month for him and hsi Nazi troops to take controll of the whole country. He used the new techniqu Blitzkrieg to surprise the enemy. First planes bombed Poland then tanks and artilary took over. Finally ground troops were sent .
