01/05/2012	Subway Hero Discussion	We discuss Autrey the subway Hero and talk about ideas of a hero. I decide that Autrey is a hero because he sacrifices everything for a stranger, therefore showing compassion.
01/06/2012	Roy Benavidez	Military heroes are right where my soft spot is. I have no doubt that this man is a hero. The videos on him made me cry, and I hope that I can die the way he did, conviced through and through I'm a good American.
01/10/2012	Kristi Quillen interview	We watch the interview with Ms. Quillen, learning about the sacrifices she went through to help people. She is my definition of a hero-- but barely. I feel like I need to know more about her before deciding. however, it did opne the PeaceCorps to my mind as a potential future career.
01/10/2012	Personal Revelation: Hero?	I reflect on all my ideas of heroes, on my own morals and the things we've talked about. I realize that through seeing all this, it's given me words for things in my brain I couldn't before describe, but my ideas haven't changed a bit.
01/14/2012	Looking for Books	We go to the library on the second day since the sub was confused the first day. I start feeling desperate since I feel like I'll never find my hero. My first choice had almost no books on her, so I went with my second.
01/14/2012	Hero Decided.	Yes, I chose Anne Frank. Instead of someone who I could only read about, I chose someone I could relate to.
01/16/2012	Book Found	It wasn't as easy getting ahold of this book as I thought. Friday I did homework, Saturday I was busy. Sunday the library was closed, and so was monday-- I desperately called every peer of mine til I found a copy. I read the first 100 pages. Incredible story. She was so innocent at the beginning.
01/18/2012	Blog Post One	Writing down all our choices into the first Posterous Blog.
01/19/2012	Powerpoint in Class	We investigate through many music videos, like the Year of the Rat and Waiting on the World to Change. I think that the former is the more meaningful one, even if it's a little awkward;y drawn. The latter frsutrates me.
01/20/2012	Children	We watched the little girl start the idea of creating art to help people in Japan. I wouldn't call her a hero, really, simply because she seems too young to actually get what's really happened. She just draws for Japan, and at that age, as long as adults seem pleased, it's the right thing to do. She might have been a hero-- but it's really hard to say.
01/22/2012	Class Discussion	Heroes in Literature discussion, as well as powerpoint list. We talk Thomas edison, Barack Obama, Rosa Parks. The list on the board made me realized I'd read a lot of books! They must have influenced the way I think.
01/23/2012	Second Blog Post	Heroes in Literature. I must hve bored Mrs. Allen with my Three-pager ranting on about morality and goodness. But it strengthened my ego and morals bigtime.
01/30/2012	Presenting in class	Shared parts of our biography. I thought mines was rather deep, and I learned a lot about other people's ideas of heroes.
01/30/2012	Watched Movie	I watched the Boy in the Striped Pajamas: it was a very emotional movie about how a Nazi general's eight year old little boy makes friends with a little boy behind the fence. (Who always wears these 'striped pajamas') If you have never watched it, you definitiely should. Wisdom of an eight-year old surpasses that of the rest of Germany.
02/01/2012	I finish my biography!	Yes, I cried at the ending, because there was no ending. There was a post by Anne three days before the Nazis came to take them away, and then the next page was blank but ffor 'Anne's diary stops here.' She died of a fever and lack of nutrition at a concentration camp.
02/02/2012	Watching Anne Frank	Movie number two is the 2009 production of Anne Frank, the movie. It is extremely good, and covered the transition well. Not entirely accurately but well.
