01/01/1862	First Taste of Battle	In 1862, many Hoosier soldiers were starting to fight.
02/01/1862	Battle for Fort Donelson	In February of 1862, there was a Battle for Fort Donelson.
08/01/1862	Bull Run	This was the Second Battle of Bull Run- 164 out of 423 men lived. The picture is of the Bull Run Bridge.
09/22/1862	A Statement is Issued	President Abraham Lincoln issued a statement saying that as of January 1, 1863, an Emancipation Proclamation would be in effect.
07/08/1863	John Hunt Morgan	In 1863, John Hunt Morgan disobeyed the rules and led about 2000 men over the Ohio River on horseback into Southern Indiana.
04/01/1865	Confederates are Toppled	The Confederate army was hopelessly outnumbered by the Union army.
04/09/1865	Robert E, Lee	Confederate General Robert E. Lee deicided to forfeit the war, and Union troops Ulysses S. Grant accepted his surrender at the Appomattox Court House in Virginia.
