Zebulon_pike_tiny 09/23/1805 Treaty #1 Zebulon Pike signed a treaty. He paid $2,000,000 for 2 spots of land: by te Mississippi River and the St. Croix River
Lmbrjack_tiny 07/29/1837 Treaty #2 Agreement for land east of the Mississippi River and lumbermen came in early. They cut down trees, the Dakotans were shocked.
09/17/1851 Treaty #3 Dakota had to give up 35,000,000 acres of land. Minnesota promised $3,000,000 and a reservation on the Minnesota River.
08/17/1862 Dakota War Starts 4 young Dakotans killed 5 white settlers over eggs. The Dakota War starts.
Andrew_myrick_tiny 08/18/1862 Myrick Dies The Dakota attacked the Lower Sioux Agency and killed Andrew Myrick.
Colonel_henry_sibley_tiny 08/27/1862 Col. Sibley Led 1600 Troops Colonel Henry Sibley led 1600 well armed troops into the Dakota War.

10/01/1862 Sibley Sets Up a Court Colonel Henry Sibley sets up a court in a kitchen to judge Dakota.
Henry_whipple_tiny 12/26/1862 38 Dakotans Hung After Abraham Lincoln reviewed the cases at Bishop Henry Whipples request, he approved only 38 convictions, when there was supposed to be 303 Dakotans hung. Lincoln was also troubled by the reservation conditions.
12/31/1863 Prisoners Banished to S. Dakota The prisoners were then banished to a South Dakota reservation.Hundreds of them died from disease and hunger.
12/31/1866 Prisoners moved to Nebraska The government moved the prisoners to a Nebraska reservation.
