Suess attended Dartmouth College. He graduated with a bachelor's degree. While he was there he took on part of the pen name we know him by now. Suess -

After e graduated from Dartmouth, Seuss changed his pen name to what he is now known as, Dr. Seuss -
His First Book
In 1937 Seuss had his very own book published. The title being " And to Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street" -
Seuss the Soldier
After the start of World War II in 1939 and America joining the war two year later, Seuss enlisted. He served in the Motion Pictures Unit. He joined in 1943 until 1946. -
His First Two Hits
During this year Dr. Seuss wrote two of his biggest hits still to this day. They were "The Cat in The Hat" and "How The Grinch Stole Christmas". -
Green Eggs and Ham
This year brought Seuss another large hit. I was entitled "Green Eggs and Ham". The same year he also published : One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish".

"How The Grinch Stole Christmas" was such a smash hit it was chosen to be film. It aired for the very first time this year on television.

Dr. Seuss Day
Just 10 years before his death on his 77th birthday he got to see his work pay off when his birthday was named Dr. Seuss Day. He earned this accomplishment due to his contribution to children's literacy. We still celebrate this occasion today! -
Dr. Seuss Dies
In 1991, Dr. Seuss died at the age of 87. He passed away from cancer at his home in La Jolla, California. His ashes were scattered into the Pacific Ocean.
