    Tennessee Passed a Law Against Teaching Evolution.
    In July of 1925 Tennesee passed a law against teaching Evolution in Public Schools. John Scopes was a Biology teacher in Dayton, Tennessee who violated the Butler Act, which prohibited the teaching of Evolution, by teaching Darwin's theory of Evolution. This trial was called: "The Monkey Scopes Trial."

    Born on 21 January 1928 Gene Sharp was an American Political Scientist and the founder of The Albert Einstein Institution. He was known for his writings about Non-Violent Struggles. Sharp was a Protestant minister's son. His father traveled a lot. He worked as a "factory laborer, a guide to a blind social worker, & an Assistant Editor of (Peace News-London) a pacifist Newspaper [ he helped organize the 1958 Aldermaston March]. He never got married and had no children.

    2.Fascism: The First Fascist Government was Formed in Italy was ruled by Mussolini & Adolf Hitler in Germany.
    3.Appeasement: After WWI European countries thought that by pleasing Hitler they'd avoid another war however,this only gave Hitler time to build an army.

    The Cold War was a tension-filled, "ideological" period in history. The cold war began after WWII. The bombing of Japan helped end WWII however, it sparked the Cold War, which was a conflict between the Soviet Union and its allies and the United States and its allies. This war led to the division of Germany and the involvement of the United States in both the Korean and Vietnamese Wars.

    In June 1950 North Korean Communists invade South Korea. In July 27 of 1953 : Armistice Agreement was signed. The Armistice (which is Latin for: "Stand(still) arms" Agreement stopped all Korean War Hostilities.The Korean War was mainly caused by the attempted spread of communism in South Korea. The US's policy of containment was to be applied. This policy states that if South Korea was to go to war with North Korea,the US would fight alongside the south koreans, to stop the spread of communism.

Sharp worked as a "guide to a blind social worker" and as a "secretary to A.J Muste" who was considered to be America's "leading Pacifist."
    Between 1955-58 he was an Assistant editor of (Peace News), a weekly Pacifist NewsPaper.

He was shot and killed at the Lorraine Hotel, Memphis, Tennessee at 6:01pm.James Earl Ray was accused of this crime and extradited by theUnited States from an airport in Heathrow, London. To some, Luther's death meant the end of the non-violence mvmt, though others thought the opposite. Robert F.Kennedy refused drafts of speeches written by his secretaries and read one that he wrote himself.

    Sharp became a professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1972.
    In 1983 he founded "Harvard's Program on Non-Violeny Sanctions in Conflict and Defense (PNS)." Moreover, in 1983 he also founded the Albert Einstein Institution, which is a non-profit org that promotes the use and study of non-violent actions in conflicts globally.
