  • S.N.E.S - Super Mario All Stars

This is the first video game I remember playing, around the same time I started school. I would come home from school, run to the living room and play this game until my Parents would tell me off for playing too long. Nintendo EAD 1993, Super Mario All Stars, video game, Super NES, Nintendo
  • N64 - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

This was the game that defined my childhood. I vividly remember my older brothers and I opening the N64 on Christmas Day and we would all take turns playing. I absolutely adored this game, and would watch my brothers play through it before they finally let me create my own save file. I would constantly ask them to play the boss battles for me though. It's a game I still own today, along with the console. Nintendo EAD 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, video game, Nintendo 64, Nintendo
  • PS1 - Resident Evil 2

I never played this myself on the PS1, but I would watch my cousin play this game for hours, so I like to think I knew it just as well as he did. I played the remake on PS4, and I thought it was fantastic. Capcom 1998, Resident Evil 2, video game, Playstation 1, Capcom
  • PS2 - Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal

I got a PS2 for Christmas, and this was one of the games that came with the console. For a long time it was the only game we had for the PS2 so I played it over and over. Insomniac Games 2004, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, video game, Playstation 2, Sony Computer Entertainment
  • PS3 - Assassin's Creed II (The Ezio Trilogy)

    The Ezio collection:
    Assassin's Creed II 2009
    Brotherhood 2010
Revelations 2011 This is one of my favourite game collections to this day. I found the story so fascinating and this trilogy is my favourite Assassin's Creed storyline. It was the first time that a game felt like more than just a game. It was also the first series of games that I made sure to keep up to date with so I would know when the sequels would be released. Ubisoft Montreal 2009, Assassin's Creed II, video game, PS3, Ubisoft
  • PS3 - Uncharted: Drake's Deception

I got this game before the first two Uncharted games, and it was a faulty copy that I had to take back to the store. The man at the store gave me a copy of Uncharted 2 for half price because I said I hadn't played it before. It's because of this generous discount that I started playing the Uncharted series, and it's now one of my favourite game series. Naughty Dog 2011, Uncharted: Drake's Deception, video game, PS3, Sony Computer Entertainment
  • PS3 - The Last of Us

This is my favourite game of all time. I didn't know much about it before I started playing it, and it completely blew my mind and all my pre-existing notions on how powerful games could be. I have replayed it multiple times, including on PS4. I believe that the characters are the narrative of this game are some of the best storytelling I've ever seen. Naughty Dog 2013, The Last Of Us, video game, PS3, Sony Computer Entertainment
  • PS4 - Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Another one of my favourite games. I think the story is beautifully written, the level designs are an excellent balance between puzzles, combat, and traversal, and it gives a great resolution to Nathan Drake's story. Naughty Dog 2016, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, video game, PS4, Sony Computer Entertainment
  • PS4 - God of War

I found this to be a very well designed game, I especially loved the visuals, and the fact that there were almost no cuts between cinematic scenes and gameplay. I also found the acting, as well as the character models to be very captivating. SIE Santa Monica Studio 2018, God of War, video game, PS4, Sony Computer Entertainment
  • PS4 - Death Stranding

As a fan of Kojima and the actors, I knew that this would be a fascinating game, but honestly it is like nothing else I've played. The beginning of it felt more like a TV series, & I think that helps make it one of the more interesting games around. I also think it shows the advantages of using online connectivity to enhance the experience of a game without relying on it completely as a gameplay feature. Kojima Productions 2019, Death Stranding, video game, PS4, Sony Computer Entertainment
