02/29/2008	My bundle of joy	Yonna Rose Delidow was born at 11:05 a.m. on February 29th, 2008 at the Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. She was born 26 weeks gestion at 2lbs and 13" long. Mommy left the surgical room around 1:30. Mommy was a little groggy and out of it, but insistend on seeing the babies. Mommy was wheeled down to the NICU (5th floor) around 4:00 p.m.
03/01/2008	Open your eyes	You opened your eyes around a day old. You opened them at the sound of mommy and daddy's voice. They weren't wide opened but enough to see your beautiful eyes.
03/02/2008	Java Jive	The breathing tube was removed from your mouth and a nasal CPAP was inserted. The umbilical catheter was also removed and an IV was placed in your hand. You developed Bradycardia (Apnea) and was given a shot of caffeine. Ahhh that Java Jive... Your first week you hold my finger with your tiny hand.
03/03/2008	First Time Holding You	Mommy's milk had just come in and I got to hold Yonna for the first time. Oooo happy day!! I was in such low spirits the day before. This moment turned eveything around.

03/18/2008	Yonna can do the Kan Kan	Yonna loves to kick her legs up and sway them from side to side.

04/06/2008	Yonna Reaching Out	This is Yonna reaching out of the hole in the incubator. I guess she felt the draft.
04/25/2008	Out of the incubator and into a crib	Yonna is able to maintain her temperature and is placed into a crib.
05/28/2008	Yonna Comes Home!	Yonna comes hom on O2. There are tanks everywhere to accomodate my sweet lil one.
07/08/2008	This Smile is for You	Yonna is a chunky monkey and is pleasantly plump. Yonna smiles and mommy witnesses. Grandma Summers claims to be the first person to receive her smile, but she always says that.
07/09/2008	Me First!	The twins bed was slightly unleveled and I had Yonna laying on a towel for a diaper change. After the change.. it was time to hand out the bottles. She was visibly agitated about not getting her bottle first.. She flopped over from her back to her tummy and for good measure she did it a second time.
07/20/2008	Hey...who's that??	They are really starting to acknowledge eachother. Yonna has been patting Sofie..and well.. not patting softly.
07/22/2008	Heart Smart	Yonna went to the Children's Hospital to have the hole in her heart repaired. She received an Amplatzer Duct Occluder by Dr. Forbes and Dr. Turner. The most amazing aspect is that it was broadcast around the country to other doctors in the same field. The idea is to allow for collaboration during the treatment. How awesome was that!!?? The recovery took just a day and no scars. Most importantly, she will not have to continue her meds or be on Oxygen. Just the O2 Saturation Monitor.
08/23/2008	Wringing her hands	Yonna notices her hands. She has been wringing them.. but now that she knows that they are there..she is starting to study them.
09/15/2008	Head..Shoulders..Knees..and Toes	Well..not knees and toes..but she is able to lift her head and shoulders while on her tummy.
09/21/2008	I am desperately in need of a manicure	Yonna has a new thing with extending her hand out like a feeler. She has a way of looking so intently, but without expression.
10/15/2008	Tag Team	Yonna was crying.. so I picked her up and comforted her. Sofie saw me holding Yonna and immediately began to "cry". After a few minutes, I put Yonna down and picked up Sofie. Sofie stopped crying immediately and looked down at Yonna with a wry grin on her face.
11/02/2008	What is this stuff??	Yonna doesn't want regular formula. She makes this horrible grimmace when you offer it to her. She wants a little cereal to spice it up!
12/01/2008	Complete Opposites	Yonna likes to be on her back and gets fussy when she finds herself on her stomach. She likes to jump up and down while standing on your lap. Her hair is growing in bone straight and she sucks her two middle fingers.
12/10/2008	More Please	Yonna has quite the appetite. When she has finished her bottle.. she looks at it longingly and makes the saddest whimper (her face full of agony).
12/12/2008	I got it.Igot it.. Wait.. I don't got it..	Yonna can sit up on her own for 5 seconds. YIPPEE!!
12/24/2008	My sensitive baby	Yonna is being tormented by Sofie. Sofie rolls over on Yonna's hand and makes her whimper. She also had a few strands of Yonna's hair in her hands which made Yonna cry even more. When I separated them.. Yonna could contain herself. Sofie was really pleased with herself.. It was difficult not to smile at her and her mischievous ways.
01/01/2009	Tooth number 1 and 2	Yonna has a tooth coming in (bottom left). I can almost see it. She sprouted a second tooth on January 11trh (bottom right).
01/09/2009	Da Da Da	Yonna says dada. She is a baby of few words.. She will say something only when she wants something..
01/21/2009	Sit up happens	Yonna is able to sit up on her own for several minutes.
01/28/2009	Holding my own	Yonna WILLINGLY holds her own bottle. I hate to compare.. but I couldn't get Ella to hold anything on her own... EVER
05/16/2009	Cutting Teeth	Yonna is cutting her right incisor..
05/16/2009	Waving Hello or Goodbye	Yonna can wave hello and goodbye..whatever the case may be. And for good measure she does it with both hands.
05/23/2009	Pulls up on... knees	Yonna can pull herself up on her knees. She is very cautious and really doesn't want to experience any form of discomfort. She starts off slowly..and gradually she will want to stand.
06/09/2009	I got your nose	Yonna has taken to sticking her finger up her nostril and anyone else who is in a baby arms reach. I won't be posting a picture of this.. you're welcom.
06/12/2009	I don't wanna stand up	Yonna is doing this thing where she holds her feet up and she doesn't want to stand.. I tried to capture the picture. If you really support her.. she will make a bit of effort to stand. Lil baby..
06/29/2009	Uh Oh and No No No No	The girls were watching tv (yes..yes...TV..LOTS OF IT) and something on noggin came on.. I can't begin to spell it.. Wobsie loo loo..or something.. Wobsi said.. "Uh..Oh"..and Yonna said.. "Uh Oh".. She did it a few more times throughout the night. Steve said she did it weeks ago.. and since I am recording everyday of their lives.. I am shocked he didn't mention it to me. Ooo and just today she said.. No No No no..
06/30/2009	Okay..Now I will stand	With a bit more reassurance.. Yonna doesn't mind standing. Just stay close and provide plenty of support.
07/06/2009	Peek a Boo..I still see you	When Yonna plays peek a boo..she covers the top of her head with her hands... she is sooo close.
07/14/2009	I have had enough	Yonna and Sofie went to their 16th month checkup and we received a brochure regarding our growing toddlers and how they may "decline" certain foods. Well .. Yonna must have read it becuase she has boycotted baby food. She wants nothing to do with it. This is her telling Grandma Summers what she wants..and making it very clear..
07/23/2009	Just before I reach my wits end!	Today.. FINALLY.. the girls hav accepted a meal. We have tried a number of things and the girls refuse. .. All types of baby food have been boycotted and is not up for debate. Today daddy made baked bean, carrot, turkey dog "mixture".. OOOO BOY did they love it!! Yippeee!!
07/27/2009	Again with the No no no no	This time it was said during a "conversation". Usual story.. Yonna is playing with something.. Sofie sees it and wants to play with it to.. Yonna sees that Sofie wants to play with what she has, but won't relinquish it for anything.. This time Yonna said.. "No no no no no"
08/13/2009	The girl loves a tag	As many of you know.. Yonna loves tags.. almost everything looks or can be converted into a tag.. say for example.. a diaper.. yeah.. yeah.. diapers have tags.. Look there for example.. Sofie is wearing a diaper and it has a tag..let me take that off of Sofie.. This morning I found Yonna without a diaper on. I suppose she that there are better uses for a diaper than to wear it.
08/16/2009	Fruit and nothing but fruit	Yonna loves fruit or anything that tastes sweet.. If you try to trick her and mix it in with other foods...she'll spot it.. When she is done.. she swipes eveything off her tray. This makes mommy and daddy very sad.
09/01/2009	How I spend my past time	What I enjoy most is opening and closing drawers and doors... pushing computer buttons..and freeing the vent cover from its proper place..
09/18/2009	Yonna Loves...	Yonna's food favorites: Baked Beans Crackers Cheerios Yogurt Bananas Mango Whole Wheat toast If you give her anything she doesn't like the "look" or "smell" of,,, it's getting swiped on the floor.. so look out!
09/27/2009	Yonna Takes a Stand	Here is Yonna making her first attempt at standing up. She actually pulled herself up the next day. I don't have the picture... Blasted!!

10/19/2009	One step at a time	Yonna has climbed the step from the family room late September 2009. Today, I am pleased to report.. she has climbed 4 steps on the main stairwell.
10/31/2009	Sofie and Yonna Playing	Yonna hugged Sofie and Sofie let her. Ooo look at them getting along. It always warms a parents heart to see their children actively loving one another. I thought I would capture this moment in time.. I may have to pull it out 10 years from now..to show them what "getting along" looks like.
11/04/2009	It's for a good cause	This very evening.. Yonna pulled herself up using a toy and walked with the toy. It was the toy grocery cart she received for her birthday. She has a tendency to empty out containers and that is what inspired her to pick herself up. The grocery items were inside and she thought they would serve a better purpose on the floor. Yaaaa Yonna!
11/10/2009	Straight to the top!	Today, I climbed a flight of stairs (14 steps). Daddy had to start me off on the first two steps..and I did it begrudgingly..but hey..I did it..and that's what's important.
11/14/2009	I have kissies	Yonna kisses mommy. We were practiciing yesterday and she would only press her lips to the bear. I asked for a kiss and she shy'd away.. (flu season you know..can't be too careful).. this morning.. Ahhh this morning was different. Kisses for mommy!
11/20/2009	Here..you eat it	Yonna inspects everything that you put in front of her. She won't just eat anything. Sometimes if you can get her to at least TRY a little bit.. you can convince her that it is edible. Yonna and Sofie will discreetly drop the food or put it on the other persons tray.. "ooo wow..how did that get there?!?"
12/30/2009	Spoon it up	Yonna is eating with a spooon..and adult spoon. She doing a really good job with it (better than some adults I must say). There is a catch though.. it must be something in the bowl worth eating. She loves baked beans, apple sauce and yogurt... yeah... that's basically it.
01/09/2010	1...2...3....GO!!	We were enjoying family day when Yonna yelled.. 1...2...3.... Go!! She can also count to 9. Go Yonna Go Yonna Go!
01/17/2010	I call it the Yonna Bounce	Yonna bounces on one of my legs into a standing position. She still doesn't quite trust her balance..but she is getting awfully close. We'll keep practicing!
01/30/2010	Hobbies	Yonna enjoyes quiet games and likes to play by herself. She loves to be in the bath and dunk objects into the water and watch how the water slowly empties or rolls down her arms. Her most favorite thing is playing in Ella's room. She always goes to the crayons first and draws and scribbles. Now if she is without a crayon.. she'll take her smoothie bottle and draw on the floor with whatever is left over. Mommy really wishes she wouldn't do that.
02/08/2010	Uh.. it's pizza...yeah.pizza	Yonna won't eat... she just won't eat it if it doesn't knock her socks off. We started telling her that it's pizza..and well she at least tries it. I don't know if she is completely convinced, but if she manages one morsel.. I say it's a victory.
02/11/2010	Stand up and be recognized	Yonna is not one to rush into things. I have been practicing standing and walking and she thinks it's a game (which is okay with me). She bounces around and no wonder she cannot hold her balance. If you happen to get her standing and she is still long enough.. she'll stand on her own for a few seconds. she realizes she isn't holding on for dear life and more and quickly drops to her knees. Ooo my lil baby :)
02/15/2010	Walk this way..	Yonna walked four steps on her own!!! When she realized what she was doing.. she quickly dropped to her knees. We are practicing walking in the upstairs hallway. It's the only place she is willing to try again.. there is soo little distraction there.
02/17/2010	Yonna Writer	Yonna can hold a pencil really well. She loves to draw as I have mentioned, but look how she holds her pen.
02/27/2010	It's a snap	Yonna is trying to snap her fingers. She puts her fingers in place and twists her wrist..and that's about as far as it gets.
03/19/2010	PLEASE WALK..... PLEASE	Today... yes.. TODAY.. I saw that distant look in Yonna's eyes.. Something got triggered... the.. "Mmm.. I can balance and walk" spark. She walked several steps to me..and wanted to do it again..and again.. This time with all kinds of distractions. Thank you Yonna...THANK YOU!
04/05/2010	"Okay..I will stand.. but I have conditions"	If I am going to stand..I am going to do it my way.. Now..see here.. I am standing on a toy chest.. just over a foot off the ground... No no..step back.. don't try to rescue me.. I have to learn my own way..and at my own pace... UH..NO! I don't want to do it on a flat surface.. I could trip on something.. don't be ridiculous.. This is the best place to hone my standing skills.
04/09/2010	Making my mark	I gave the twins a few crayons and some paper to draw while they played in their "area".. They used the paper..but very much enjoyed the walls, windows, toy chest, chairs, door, closet... Sofie played possum and went to sleep so the blame would fall on Yonna.. who decided to eat the evidence.
04/25/2010	All in good time	Yonna has walked across the room.. She has her own particular style...kinda looks like the floor is hot lava.. I am sooooo happy..
05/15/2010	Yes..YES...She Walks..	As you know..we have been awaiting Yonna's ability to walk across the room.. well she is doing it... for real this time..no kidding..I know I have said it in past posts..but for real..okay..well..on occassion she walks on her knees..but some of the time she walks on her two feet!
06/01/2010	Lovin the bike trailer	We used the bike trailer once in the last three years. We didn't have much success with Ella. She didn't like it not one bit. Yonna and Sofie really like it (of course they are much older). Sofie didn't like her bike helmet at first... and Yonna couldn't get hers on soon enough. They had an awesome time riding around the neighborhood.
06/05/2010	Is it time to cry Sofie??	Yonna isn't big on crying.. she only gets upset if there is a delay on getting her into the tub..or if you remove her crayone...Other than that...she rarely cries. If she DOES see Sofie crying..she immediately starts crying.. as if.. "Well if Sofie is crying... she has her reasons.. I should probably start crying too". It's like a union or something.. If one cries..WE ALL CRY!! Amazing..I can't even add a picture of Yonna crying...cuz I never got her on film, crying.
06/14/2010	Hi Steve!	Yonna insists on calling Steve... well Steve.. She just doesn't think she has the kind of rapport to call him Daddy... not yet..
06/26/2010	Ear Piercings	Yonna was 2nd and didn't require any coaxing. She all but positioned her head in the right direction. I did hold her a bit..just to make sure she wasn't going to move and end up with a lip piercing. Not one tear was shed.. she just said... "ouch". She wasn't quick to accept the icecream.. she wasn't convinced that it was sweet or that it was in fact icecream. That's a whole 'nother story.
09/02/2010	Yonna's official first haircut	Gramma Summers cut Yonna's hair. It is soo darling. When Yonna was in the Nicu.. it was clipped several times. We are going to say that this was the first official hair cut. Now I know it is wrong of me to use this photo.. but Yonna won't keep her finger out of her nose..
09/06/2010	"Here you go mommy"	I wish the twins would stop handing her things...and then just walk away...my desk is full of fridge magnets, yo yo, stuffed hamster, pair of shoes... plastic shoe, comb, crayon. They giving me things.. "Here you go mommy" me: uh..thanks them: yur welcome!
10/14/2010	A kid who won't eat	Yonna doesn't eat. She likes sweet treats...and fruit.. and sauce. She will suck off the sauce and put the food back on the plate..or line it up on the table. She also holds the food up to her lips.. only to NOT put it in her mouth. Update: Now she stores the food in her mouth.. but doesn't "process" it. Just holds it for later.
10/25/2010	Hi Ho..Hi Ho	Yonna can write two letters. She can write an H...and an O....and always in that order...mm.. trying to encourage her to write other letters as well. She also favors her left hand :)
11/18/2010	Sisterly Love	It isn't easy to get a picture of Yonna and Sofie hugging one another.. There is one that decides to turn a perfectly good hug into some sort of WWF wrestling move. Both topple over and yet another missed opportunity to capture a lovely moment.
11/28/2010	Seek and Destroy	The twins go from room to room pulling things out, writing on walls, and just causing chaos where ever they go. I think one eggs the other one on. I have removed all of their clothes from the drawers. They empty the drawer and create a pile of clothes on the floor. The then take turns in jumping into the pile and throwwing clothes up in the air like it's a pile of leaves in the fall.
12/07/2010	"It's a bubble"	Yonna was found poking one of the Christmas baubles (as shown in picture) and kept poking at it with her finger. "it's a bubble" she was trying to pop it.
01/27/2011	Happy Table	Yonna is still drawing on everything with everything... This time it was her great great grandmother's sewing machine. Don't worry.. it's a washable marker...and I still have three daughters..
02/20/2011	Cream de la Cream	Yonna got into our bathroom and took the top off my goat's milk lavender cream.. I don't have anything to say about it right now.. She just wasn't sorry..
03/18/2011	Big girl bed	Yonna loves her new room. She isn't big on sleeping and is pleased she can be up late "talking to herself" or if she feels like bursting out in to a song.. she can.. and she is only disturbing her hard working parents in the next room over..

08/19/2011	Yonna and her pillow	Yonna drags-uh carries with her a pillow...She likes to peel back the pillow case and rub the corner of the pillow while she sucks her two middle fingers.. You can imagine with the corner of this pillow looks like. I have my comfy cozy..and she has this pillow.. who am I to judge.
09/06/2011	"oooo I'm sorry.."	"Oh.. I'm sorry mommy.. I didn't mean to.. " This is what Yonna says each and every time she is scolded.. Let me tell you.. she IS NOT sorry... and she DOES mean to!
09/08/2011	"Are you sad?"	Yonna is very concerned about how one is feeling. If she sees you crying.. she'll ask.. "Are you sad?"..or "Are you disappointed??".. "Are you Happy...... angry?" Of course..most of the time she is the cause of these emotions... but at least she can identify her impact.
10/28/2011	Another Masterpiece	She enjoys drawing on the windows.. I don't know if this is known to everyone.. but it is rather easy to clean off crayon from windows. I recorded the video of her explaining what she had drawn.. it's so clever. "happy mushrooms". If she could just avoid the tv.. that would be awesome. I have allowed her to write on the window..if she promises not to draw anywhere else.. we'll see..
