07/28/1914	Austria-Hungary Declares War against Serbia	This was in response to Archduke being assassinated
08/01/1914	Germany Declares War on Russia	Germany was obligated to support Austria-Hungary because of a treaty
08/03/1914	Germany Declares war on France and Invades Belgium	France was Russia's Ally, and if France was able to fall then the Germans would be abe to take over Russia which is who they wanted land from
08/03/1914	Britian Declares war on Germany and Austria-Hungary	Britian declares war because Germany invades Belgium
05/01/1915	America questions neutrality	America did not want to get involved because so many immagrants were in America and they didn't want the country to split up.
05/07/1915	Lusitania sinks	German U-boats sink British liner Lusitania of the coast of Ireland. Many were Americans that died on the ship.This uproared the American public who turned against Germany and the Central Powers
07/01/1916	First Battle of Sommer lasts until mid-November	British suffer 60,000 caualties on the first day of this battle. about 1.2 million causalties total
11/01/1916	Woodrow Wilson gets elected President	Wilson wanted peace but the Germans refused to listen to him
02/16/1917	Zimmerman Note	A telegram from the German minister to the German ambassador in Mexico which British agents intercepted. The note was trying to get Mexico involved in the war and to go against America
04/02/1917	America Declares War	Congress passes the resolution to go to war!
06/01/1917	Congress Passed Espoinage Act	Law against anyone saying anything bad about the government or our involvement in the war
03/03/1918	Treaty of Brest-Litovsk	Treaty for Russia to leave WWI
11/03/1918	Austria-Hungary Surrenders	Austria-Hungary surrenders from WWI
06/28/1919	Treaty of Versailles	Carved 5 areas out of the Ottoman Empire and made Germany pay $33 billion to the Allies for reparations.
01/03/1921	America signed seperate treaty with germany to end the War	Wilson was no longer president and America never joined the League of Nations
