He was an only child of his father, a foreman in a metal factory, and his mother, a homemaker. 01/01/1975	Graduation and Career	Vladimir Putin graduated from Leningrad University in the law department, but instead of entering in the law field right after graduating, Putin got a job at the KGB, the only one in his class who was accepted out of a hundred. 07/28/1983	Putin gets married	Putin met and married his wife, Lyudmilla, a former teacher of English and French. She was born January 6, 1958 in Kalingrad, Soviet Union. She also graduated from Leningrad State University. They have two children together, Mariya and Yekatirina. Both her and her and her husband belong to Russian Orthodox faith. 01/01/1985	Dresden, East Germany	The KGB sent Putin to Dresden, East Germany, where he lived undercover as Mr. Adamov, the director of the Soviet-German House of Friendship, a social and cultural club. Putin's approval will make the United Nations environment pact aimed at cutting down global warming effective worldwide. 04/29/2005	Putin Visits Israel	Putin made a historic visit to Israel to talk with the prime minister Ariel Sharon. This was the first visit made there by any Kremlin leader. Putin was there to allay fears that Israel's security was threatened by Russia's nuclear assistance to Iran and missile sales to Syria. 06/01/2007	Tension between the United States and Russia	Putin says Russia will go back to its Cold War stance of aiming its missiles at Europe if United States went ahead with a plan to build a missile defense shield near Russia's borders. Personally though, Putin and ex president George W. Bush are on friendly terms.

05/08/2008	Vladimir Putin is appointed Prime Minister	On 8 May 2008, only a day after handing the presidency to Dmitry Medvedev (The current president of Russia) Putin was appointed Prime Minister of Russia.
