    Democrats won the presidential elections and the republicans attempted to discredit Truman's foreign policy by claiming it was not tought against communism. Hence the democrats were blamed for the loss of China and accused of having closest communist.

    Soviets managed to detonate their first atomic bomb which ended US's atomic monopoly which had served as an advantage over USSR.

    CCP won the Chinese Civil war and was considered China's lost to communism.

    Stalin had cautiously agreed to Kim's invasion plan althought he warned Kim that Russian would not intervene directly in the conflict.

    MacArthur was not happy fighting a limited war and since the priority was to drive the communist forces behind the 38th parallel. He was relieved off his command by Truman.
