02/10/1763	End of the French and Indian War	Dear Josh, Its over! I'm so happy that early this morning I ran outside and jumped for joy! So many have died though. 03/11/1763	Proclamation of 1763	Dear Josh, I bet you heard about theProclamation. What have we come to where we can't even go on the land we fought for? I feel we should be able to. Why not? I don't understand why so many men died and we can't enjoy what they fought for. Remember my friend Tyra? Well her family is going anyway. They said that the British won't even know! 04/05/1764	Sugar Act	Dear Josh, The Sugar Act. Oh why would you need to tax us on sugar, molasses and other things? All they want is money! And I heard from Tyra that her brothers best friend tried to smuggle stuff in and I won't go into the details of the punishment, but it was bad. Most people are boycotting the goods but some of the stuff you really need. Your old friend James Otis came up with the phrase "Taxation without representation is tyranny". People chant that phrase over and over. I miss you, Anne
07/07/1765	Stamp Act	Dear Josh,Did you hear about the new tax? Oh yes another one. This one even stupider then the last. We must now pay for stamps for our wills, newspapers and contracts! Oh and mother had to stamp my playing cards! Mother isn't happy nor the rest. I can't blame them for being mad! People are demanding the tax be repealed.Some people have burned the papers.Oh and I saw the funniest thing today I saw a man being tarred
12/31/1765	Quartering Act	Dear Josh, Guess what? Another act. The Quartering act. We have to feed and house British soldiers! We already have one! His name is John and he thinks he is so above us! He spits out his food and leaves everything a mess!We have no privacy and he sleeps in my room! I have to sleep on the floor. Tyra's aunt refused to let one stay with her. I told mother thats what we should do.She said no. I miss you,Anne
12/07/1767	Townshend Acts	Dear Josh, Wait till you hear 'bout this one. Britain not going to tax whats in the colony they are going to tax our imports! So all of our lead, tea, glass and so on will be taxed. And then they came up with a thing called "writ of assistance" so they can search our ships without any reasons! Britain said it's not a tax but it so is. Some people have been smuggling goods into the colonies, I won't say who. I miss you, Anne
03/05/1770	Boston Massacure	Dear Josh,I couldn't belive my eyes today. First a mob of colonist were pellting the soldiers with ice and had sticks. They were screaming "FIRE" and then the soldiers did. They killed five colonist including your friend James Caldwell,seven died. The British said they heard Captain Prestons command to fire,but he didn't. All you could hear from the house was gum shots. I miss you, Anne
05/10/1773	Tea Act	Dear Josh, Did you hear about the Tea Act? So not only are we now being taxed on suger ,now tea! We have to import our tea from the British East India Company. Now Mr. Jankins is out of business. He can't sell tea anymore. We are being taxed 3 pence! Oh, it's so bad up here. I wish you come back. I miss you, Anne
12/16/1773	The Boston Tea Party!	DearJosh,Yes!Payback! Some men had a "meeting" and decided they and some other people would break open the crates of tea and pour it in the ocean! All the tea was worth £ 10,000! Thats so much money! It was 90,000lbs of tea! It took them 3 hours. 7pm- 10pm. We are all so happy today! I miss you, Anne
12/20/1773	Intolerable Acts	Dear Josh, Our happiness is over.They fought back. The British closed the port of Boston until all the tea is paid for. And now all the trails are moved to Britain.And they banned all the town meetings! I can't believe it. Also they are strenghening the Quarting Act! I miss you, Anne
09/05/1774	The First Continental Congress	Daer Josh, Today the The First Continental Congress took place in Philidelphia.Every colony was there except Georgia.People like John Adams, George Washington,Sam Adams,John Jay, Patrick Henry were there.They talked about wat should be done about the Intolerable Act.So now they are going to demand a repeal,train militias,organize boycotts,and they are going to have another meeting in May 1775.I miss you, Anne
04/18/1775	Paul Revere's Ride	Dear Josh, Do you remember dad's best friend Paul Revere. Well he is a big deal in town right now. Last night he rode on his horse to Lexington and warned everyone about the coming British. He was so brave but he was captured. William Dawes made it all the way to Concord. They are the bravest men I know, besides you. I miss you, Anne.
04/19/1775	Lexington and Concord	Dear Josh, The most horrible thing happened today! 700 British troops came to seize all munitions in Concord. 77 of our minutemen waited for the British. Then shots were fired. 8 farmers were clamied dead. Then war started, as you know because you are one of the soldiers. Please be safe. I miss you, Anne
