05/22/1996	Birth	I was born on May 22nd of 1996 to Isabel and Nelson Melo. I was an only child at the time.
06/05/1996	Name change	When I was born, the name my parents gave me was Leticia Maria Melo. My grandmother, who had recently immigrated from Portugal, had a very strong accent. When she tried saying my name it sounded like Electricia, which means "electrician" in portuguese name.Since my parents did not want me being called an electrician, they changed my name to their 2nd option, Deanna.
12/08/1996	Baptism	I was baptized into the Catholic Church on December 8th of 1996 at Holy Family Church. My godparents were my aunt Sylvia and my uncle Steve.
01/20/1999	Move	When I was 2 and a half years old, my family (my mom, dad and I) moved from Tragina St to Gillard St. It is the first and only time I have ever moved.
03/23/1999	Baby brother	My brother Andrew was born on March 23rd of 1999. The anger I have towards this day and lack of good memory prevents me from further explaining anything.
09/05/2000	Start elementary school	I started JK on September 5th of 2000 at St. Catherine of Siena elementary school. One memory I have of this day is at lunch, I sat beside a boy (which now attends STM with me) who was drinking a juice box. He thought he was cool because he could squeeze the box to make the juice come up the straw without spilling. Excited, he showed me his little trick except this time he wasn't as careful and squirted the juice all over me. I've never really liked him ever since.
05/19/2004	First Communion	I received First Holy Communion on May 19th of 2004 at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish with other students of St. Catherine of Siena School.
03/05/2009	grandparents move in	Due to both of my grandparents being ill, they moved in with my family so we were there to constantly care for them. They are my maternal grandparents.
06/14/2010	Graduate elementary school	I graduated St. Catherine of Siena school on June 14th of 2010. I was excited to be moving on to big and better things, yet sad that our "family" would soon go our seperate ways.
08/16/2010	Cousin Joe passes away	On August 17th of 2010, I was informed that my father's cousin, Joe had been killed. It came as a complete shock because I still can't understand why someone would want to hurt such a good man. The way he passed changes the way I live drastically. I feel extremely uncomfortable with loved ones being out alone in the dark. My cousin Joe and his memory will forevever be in my heart.
09/07/2010	Start high school	I started high school on September 7th 2010. I attended St. Thomas More high school and unlike most of the grade nine population, I did not get lost on my first day.
04/23/2011	Grandmother passes away	My grandmother, Aldina Oliveira, who lived with me passed away April 23rd of 2011 of a heart attack. She was a strong woman who will be greatly missed.
06/28/2011	First job	I got my first job at Zarky's on Dundurn St at the end of june this summer. I am currently work there part-time and enjoy it very much.
