01/01/1892	Christened	JRR was born and christened in the Bloemfontein Cathedral.
12/01/1896	Father death	When JRR was three or four he went to England with his mother and brother for a family visit h father his was somewhere else at the time, but his father died of a rheumatic fever before he could join them.
01/01/1899	King Edwards	JRR at the age of 7 takes the entrance exam at King Edwards school but fails to obtain the place.
01/01/1901	JRR languages	When Tolkien was eight or nine he made up several languages but he destroyed them.
01/01/1904	Moving in with anut	JRR and his brother Hilary moved in with there aunt Beatrice Suffield.
11/14/1904	Mother death	In 1904 when Tolkien was 12 his mother died of acute diabetes .
01/01/1908	Oxford	JRR takes his first term at Oxford college.
01/01/1913	21 b-day	On the evening of JRR 21 birthday Tolkien wrote to Eidth his true love asking her to marry him. She replied that she had already agreed to marry another man but she had only done so because she had believed Tolkien had forgotten about her. Edith returned her engagment ring and announced that she would be marrying Tolkien instead

11/27/1971	Edith death	Tolkien wife Edith died on November 27, 1971 at the age of 82.
09/02/1973	Tolkiens death	Tolkien died 21 months after his wife Edith on September 2, 1973 at the age of 81. He was buried in the same grave as Edith.
10/01/1996	JRR Tolkien and JK Rowing	Jk Rowling published the first Harry Potter book.The characters in it were just like Lord of the Rings. Example: Sauron in Lord of the Rings is head of evil. He lost his power and needs the ring to gain it back. Voldemort in Harry Potter is avanquished evil wizard. He lost his power anD need the sorcerers stone to get it back.
