01/31/1958	Exlorer 1 is launched	The first United States satellite to orbit the Earth.
07/29/1958	NASA	NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is formed.
04/12/1961	Yuri Gagarin	Russian citizen, Yuri Gagarin, is the first human in space (he orbits the Earth).
05/05/1961	Alan Shepard	Aland Shepard is the first United States citizen to go into space.
02/20/1962	John Glenn	John Glenn is the first United States citizen to orbit the Earth
07/20/1969	First man on the moon	Apollo 11 crew member Neil Armstrong is the first man to walk on the moon. His fellow Apollo astronaut crew member Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin is right behind him, decoming the second man to walk on the moon.
04/12/1981	First American Space Shuttle	The first American space shuttle is launched. This marks the use of the first "re-usable" space craft.
01/28/1986	Challenger Explosion	The space shuttle Challenger explodes shortly after take-off.
