04/12/1961	Yuri Gagerin	Russian citizen, Yuri Gagarin, is the first human in space. (he orbits the Earth)
05/05/1961	Alan Shepard	Alan Shepard is the first United States citizen to go into space.
02/20/1962	John Glenn	John Glenn is the first United States citizen to orbit Earth
07/20/1969	Apollo 11	Apollo 11 crew member Neil Armstrong is the first man to walk on the moon. His fellow Apollo astronaut crew member Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin is right behindhim, becoming the secong man to walk on the moon.
04/19/1971	Sputnik 1	The Soviet satellite "Sputnik 1" is the first object sent into space and to successfully orbit the Earth.
04/12/1981	American Shuttle	The first American space shuttle is launched. This marks the use of the first "re-useable" space craft.
01/28/1986	The Challenter	The space shuttle Challenger explodes shortly after take-off.
11/02/2000	Human Habitation	Human Habitaion in the International Space Station begin.
