01/01/1670 Hudson Bay Company King Charles II of Englnd gave the Hudson Bay Company monopaly on all the trading around the Hudson Bay.
01/01/1756 Start of Seven years War The Seven Year War was mainly Britian and the Iroquois against the French.
01/01/1763 Treaty of Paris The Treaty of Paris was signed, which allowed the French to keep 2 small islands off of Newfoundland.
01/01/1763 Seven Years War End This was the end of the 7 year war. Britian lead by General James Wolfe defeated the French lead by Montcalm in the Plains of Abraham.

10/07/1763 The Royal Proclimation Act The Royal Proclimation was made to assimilate the French into British ways.
01/01/1774 The Quebec Act The Quebec Act gave the French more freedom. Allowed the French to keep there language, and culture. The act also created Upper and Lower Canada.

01/01/1811 The Settling in Red River Lord Selkirk had settlers come to the Red River area to settle. The land was bough from the HBC since the Metis and Natives didn't officailly own the land
01/01/1812 War of 1812 The War of 1812 was between Great Britian and America. No one had won the war. This war was started because of unreasonal tax which was charged on American imports, and Manifest Destiny.
01/08/1814 Pemmican Proclimation This proclimation was made to forbid the export of pemmican on that year because it was the main source of food for the new settlers.
01/01/1815 Corn Laws The Corn Laws were put into action, stopping cheap wheat from comming into Britian. This is because wheat from Canada was far more cheap than the ones grown in Britian, this would make food industries in Britian go bankrupt, which is why this Law was put up.
06/19/1816 Battle of the Seven Oaks The battle of Seven Oaks was suppose to be a friendly negotiation. However the Metis did not agree to the government's terms which lead to a battle.
01/01/1821 North West Company's Agreement The North West Company agreed to bacome part of the Hudson Bay Company.
01/01/1841 Upper and Lower Canada Upper and Lower Canada becomes two provinces. Upper became Ontario, and Lower became Quebec.
01/01/1841 Durham Report This report was made to tell the British government the cause of the rebellions of 1837-1838. In the report he included that the main reason which cause the rebellion is that they wanted a responsible government.

08/01/1870 Louis Riel Flees to America Louis Riel was wanted by the government for treason because lead a rebellion with his provisional solders. Another reason is that when they captured Fort Gary, they has killed Scott Thomas, one of the important figures in parliment.

This had made lives harder for many people who settled there and cause them to loot other people for resources such as wood, and livestocks.
