It also touches upon protecting the environment and the growth of the industrial revolution in our country. See if you can find these moments when you read it!
11/08/1972	Watership Down	by Richard Adams This was the FIRST real chapter book that finally hooked me to reading. I have also seen the movie a few times and still have it in my classroom on VHS tape. Again a book about environment and the stuggles between animal species. DOC23

Title: The School Bus Driver from the Black Lagoon Author: Mike Thaler Published: (September 1, 1999) Write Up: I like the story because a boy is getting on the bus, getting ready for school with a lot of people. 04/02/2001	Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (DOC23)	Title: Artemis Fowl Author: Eoin Colfer Published: April 2001 This was an amazing adventure story about a boy who is a computer genius. HIs parents are NEVER home and always exploring the world. He then discovers a secret about our world. What is it???? You will have to read the book. I have read already the first four in the series. 01/03/2002	DOUBLE FUDGE by Judy Blume (Anthony S.)	Title- Double Fudge Author- Judy Blume Year Published- 2002 This book is about a boy named Peter. Peter is in 7 grade. He has a brother named Fudge. Fudge is 2 years old. In the book Fudge does really bad thinks like putting mashed potatos in Peter's hair. Fudge likes money. This book is mostly about Fudge and Peter meeting their cousin Howie. 09/11/2005	Whales on Stilts	by M.T. Anderson One of the best books I have ever read if you are interested in understanding the CRAFT of writing. DOC23
09/01/2008	A Beginning, a Muddle, and an End	by AVI This book talks all about the struggles that young writers face when having to write an assignment. I assume you noticed that the word MUDDLE was used instead of MIDDLE. This all happened when AVI, the author, received a letter from a student saying why do most stories have a BEGINNING, A "MUDDLE", and an END. Avi then decided that this would be an amazing title for a book. The rest is history! DOC23
12/08/2011	Dragon Rider	by Cornelia Funke Mrs. Funke is one of my favorite authors! She does an amazing job bringing to life many fantasy characters and the struggle they face throughout the story. See which character you relate too! DOC23
