01/01/1972 The 4004 was Intel's first microprocessor in the world. He was hired as a consultant to create a programming language for the device,he developed the PL/M (Programming Language/ Microprocessor).It was to run the IBM 360 computer and generate excutable binary code that then burned into the ROM memory of the 4004 system.
03/23/1972 The designer of the 8008 computer microprocessor. Marcian Ted Hoff designer of the 4004, also made the first 8008, 8-bit microprocessor. He was again hired to develop PL/M for Intel's 8008 computer.
05/01/1972 Gary Kildall Gary recieved a Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Washington. While in school he worked on the computer system called DEC PDP_ 10
12/01/1972 Joined the Navy While in the Navy he was appointed to instruct in computer science at the Post- Graduate School in Monterey California. At the school he purchased an Intel 4004 microprocessor chip set for his students to experiment with.
05/15/1973 Intel's 8 inch floppy disc. Shugart gave Intel a sample 8 inch floppy disc. Gary and his students then built a controller interface to an Intellec-80. They wrote a program that was called CP/M ( Control Program/ Micro computer) which was enabled to read and write files to and from the disc.

08/01/1999 Created in 1999 was the IMS LTD. REAL/32
06/15/9761 Discharged from the Navy. He became a full time consultant, using the name Intergalactic Digital Research. With the help of Torode they designed floppy disc systems for several micro computer manufacturers.
