08/18/1680	Spanish Assault	Colorado was attacked by a group of Spaniards who were in search of gold and silver.
05/06/1859	Gold Finding	This is when gold was first found by John H. Gregory while he was digging along the ground
02/28/1861	Colorado Territory	Congress established that Colorado was now offcially a territory, but not yet a state.
01/05/1863	Bill Denied	Territorial delegate Hiram P. Bennet introduced a bill to provide statehood to Colorado, but the House denied it.
11/29/1864	Sand Creek Massacre	During the massive fight in the Sand Creek Massacre, Colorado was devastated by a huge flood
07/04/1869	First Rodeo	The Deer Trail in Colorado had created their first organized rodeo.
07/31/1871	Colorado Springs Founded	The first hotel built in Colorado Springs, still in construction with people on the scaffolding installing more.
10/25/1875	Constitutional Convention	Colorado had elected a constitutional convention for further insight on their constitution.
07/01/1876	Constitution Ratified	After preparation, their constitution became ratified and submitted for the people to vote.
08/01/1876	Colorado's Statehood	Colorado was added to the Union on this day, its motto being " Nothing without Providence"
10/03/1890	First Normal School	A building in the city of Greeley became occupied and was used for a new school for children.
07/29/1906	National Park	Congress created the Mesa Verde National Park to give a children and parents a place to have fun.
05/08/1910	First Long Distance Phone Call	The first long distance call was made from Denver to New York on this day, and also the first airplane flight in Denver was made.
04/06/1917	War With Germany	Congress declared war on Germany and many Coloradons had volunteered to help. "Buffalo Bill" Cody was a casualty and he was burid on Lookout Mountain, west of Denver.
04/26/1924	Child Labor Amendment	Colorado was the second state to ratify the child labor amendment to the federal Constitution.
