03/04/1861	Lincoln's Inauguration.	LIncolns plan was to not end slavery but to just work things out with the warfare.
04/12/1861	The attack on fort sumter	Men were in fort sumter but it was on the south side now and they were now a independent country so they attacked fort sumter.
01/01/1863	Emancipation Proclamation	President Lincoln issues the final Emancipation Proclamation freeing all slaves in territories held by Confederates.
07/02/1863	Gettysburg	A Three day battle that was big and the Confederates lost
03/09/1864	Gen. Grant to command	lincoln purts Gen. Grant to lead the west.
08/29/1864	George B. McClellan	the pople try and get George B. McClellan for president to run against Abraham Lincoln.
11/08/1864	Lincoln is re elected	Lincoln gets re elected and is president for another four years.
01/31/1865	Thirteenth Amendment	The U.S. Congress approves the Thirteenth Amendment, which is to get rid of slavery.
04/09/1865	Lee Gives up	Lee surrenders.
