Ft-sumter-1_picture1_tiny 04/14/1861 Fort Sumter April 12, 1861 – April 14, 1861. This attack was in Charleston County, South Carolina. It was a Confederate victory considering they attacked the Union fort. This started the American Civil War.
106_107_tiny 07/21/1861 First Bull Run First Bull Run was a one day battle that was on July 21, 1861. It was in Manassas, Virginia. It was also a Confederate win. Both sides planned on attack the others left flank, the South was first to find out the North was doing this which lead them to victory.
300px-monitorvirginia_tiny 03/09/1862 Hampton Roads March 8, 1862 - March 9, 1862. The battle was off Swells Point in Virginia. It was unsure has to who won this battle. Although there were only 7 deaths for the confederacy and 261 deaths for the Union.
1-2688-shiloh-battle-scene_tiny 04/07/1862 Shiloh April 6, 1862-April 7, 1862. This battle was located in Hardin County, Tenneessee. It was a Union Win. The North lost 1,754 soldiers while the South lost 1,728 members of the war.
Emancipation-proclamation-1_tiny 09/17/1862 Antietam The battle was only on September 17, 1862 near Sharpsburg, Maryland. It was a deadlock for both sides. The signifigance of it was that Abraham Lincoln got to do his Emancipation Proclomation due to this battle.
Fredericksburg-battle_tiny 12/15/1862 Fredericksburg December 11th-December 15th 1862. This battle was located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It was a Confederate win. The Union suffered 12,653 casualties while the south had 5,377.
Battle-chancellorsville_tiny 05/06/1863 Chancellorsville April 30,1863- May 6, 1863. The Battle at Chancellorsville took place in Chancellorsville, VA. It was a win for the Confederates. It was considered General Lee's greatest vicotry after the tragic loss of Stonewall Jackson.
Battle-gettysburg_tiny 07/03/1863 Gettysburg July 1, 1863-July 3, 1863. The battle took place in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. General Lee sent out his troops to fight against the Confederates.The battle was won by the Union. The political outcome was that the Union had 23,000 casualties while the Confederacy had a shocking number of 28,000.
Battle_of_vicksburg_tiny 07/04/1863 Vicksburg May 18, 1863- July 4, 1863. The Battle at Vicksburg took place in Warrne County, Mississippi. This was another win for the Union. The Union had more casualties then the Confederates with 10,142 while the Confedreates had 9,091.

Battle-spotsylvania_tiny 05/21/1864 Spotsylvania May 8, 1863-May 21, 1863. The battle took place in Spotsylvania, Virginia. There was no actual winner, it was a deadlock battle. The Union had 18,399 people lost or wounded while the Confederacy had only 13,421.
360px-sherman_sea_1868_tiny 12/22/1864 Shermans March November 12, 1864 - December 22, 1864. the Sherman March was from Atlanta to Savannah, Georgia. The Uninon ended up winning this battle. there were about 3,100 deaths.
Petersburg-big_tiny 03/25/1865 Petersburg June 9, 1864-March 25, 1865. The siege at Petersbug took place in Petersburg, Virginia. It was a big Union victory. With the North having a large number of 11,386 casualties it was shocking they would win considering the South only had about 4,000 casualties.
800px-the_assassination_of_president_lincoln_-_currier_and_ives_2_tiny 04/15/1865 Lincoln's Assination Abraham Lincoln was assinated by John Wilkes Booth on Apri 14th at a theater. He then died the following day with his family all around him. It was a hard loss after the war.
