| 08/29/1967 | St. Louis Blues | After moving into the NHL, Scotty Bowman joined the St. Louis Blues as the assistant coach, but after a bad start the head coach, Lynn Patrick, resigned and Bowman moved up as the head coach. | |
| 09/09/1971 | Montreal Canadiens | After a dispute with the St. Louis Blues team ownership, Bowman then moved on to the defending league champions, the Montreal Canadiens. In 1973, the Canadiens made it to the playoffs and Bowman won his first Cup. And from 1976 through 1979, the Canadiens won four consecutive Stanley Cups. In 1978, Bowman dropped down as the General Manager for the same team. | |

| 10/08/1992 | Pittsburgh Penguins | After doing Hockey Night in Canada, Bowman then moved back into the NHL to then coach the Pittsburgh Penguins for year and won the Stanley Cup with them for the only year he coached them. | |
| 06/19/1993 | Detroit Redwings | After a season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Bowman then continued his career with the Detroit Redwings. Throughout these nine years, Scotty Bowman won three more Stanley Cups and made nine more playoff apearances. | |
| 06/14/2002 | Retirement | After a long career of coaching, Scotty Bowman dropped down and retired from coaching. | |
