Missouri_compose_small_square Missouri Compromise Missouri wasn’t a slave state or a free state. The South wanted it to be a slave state the North wanted it to be a free state. They finally decided that when Maine became a state it would be free and Missouri would be a slave state
Nat_turner_small_square Nat turners rebellion Nat turner launched an attack and killed fifty-seven white people. The militia arrived and killed him and 100 black slaves. Since Nat did this black slaves weren’t allowed to go to church and have education.
Fugtive_slave_act_small_square Fugitive Slave Act People in Texas, Utah, and New Mexico were allowed to catch runaway slaves and return them to their owner for a bounty. This Act made it much harder to get to Canada and be free.

John_brown_small_square John Brown's rebellion John Brown was going to try free slaves by force. He had finical support from abolitionists John Brown got his sons and his loyal supporters. He launched an attack on Harper's Ferry, Virginia they easily took down the town and the arsenal, but was forced back by the local militia. Two of his sons died he was also hanged on December 2, 1859
