05/24/1972	The first generation of Video games consoles	the first gaming console which was the magnavox odyssey whcih was the first home console to be released. this lasted until 1977 when "Pong" style manufacturers left the market due to the introduction of microprocesseor based consoles
06/30/1972	Atari is born	Atari was founded and they began constructing the atari gaming console
08/14/1976	The Second Generation	The second generation of gaming begins as the fairchild channel f was released and consoles released by various other companies decided to enter the market
02/24/1978	we have been invaded by space	The greatest video-games of all time Space Invaders was released on this date which utilizes the whole invasion genre which is still in video games today
05/10/1980	The Big-Yellow Ball has arrived	The legendary Pac-Man has been released which people up to today still play and review
05/19/1981	The Gorilla known as donkey kong	Donkey Kong was released in the arcades on this date which introduced us to a plumber in red known as mario and was also the first video game to have the subject "Damsel in Distress" which would be the main scenario for many games to come
01/18/1982	Golden age for Video-Games	Video-Games begin expanding towards the arcades, computer's at universities and at home and it was the begininng peak era for gaming. this was also known as the golden age of video games as most gaming companie such as namco atari and nintendo was most successful in this era
08/16/1982	The Commodore	The Commodore 64 system was released to the public it was a success because it had the most advanced grphics for it's time
07/15/1983	The Nintendo home entertainment system	The Nintendo home entertainment system also known as the NES was released along with Super Mario Bros
09/14/1985	The third generation	The third generation of gaming has begun
06/05/1986	Zelda is here	Another legendary game was released on this date, The legend of Zelda is one of the most successful games today with up to 12 sequals to the first game
10/30/1987	The fourth generation	This era of video games was dominated by the Nintendo and SEGA rivalries, with SNES and Mario against SEGA and Sonic as they were both really successful in this era but neither one could surpass the other. also on this actual date the Turbografx-16 was released by the NEC company
12/18/1987	Fantasy of games	The first final fantasy game was released on the NES which would have 13 upcoming sequel and it would become the most successful RPG franchise
03/06/1989	An act of God	The first simulation game where you can create your own city and basically play god is released which would release more sequels known as "The Sims"
09/28/1990	The Gameboy	The Gameboy was released on this in europe it was one of nintendo's most successful gaming products and it was the first console to have the legendary pokemon blue and red versions and tetris on. it was the first handheld consoles to use video-game cartridges, thi is also the highest selling handheld consoles as it has sold 118.60 million units worldwide,
11/30/1990	The drive to gaming	The legendary and beautiful console called the Sega Mega Drive also known as Sega Genesis in north america was released on this date in the U.K. which would later have more legendary games released to this console such as sonci the hedgehog, this is also sega's most successful console with with over 29 million consoles sold worldwide
03/12/1991	Street Fighter II	Street Fighter 2 was the most successful game in 1991 next to Sonic the hedgehog because of the unique characters involved in the game also it gave the fighting game genre a major popularity boost in the 90's with its severel updated version released later that decade
06/23/1991	The Blue hedgehog	The legendary and the Speedy Hedgehog known as Sonic was released on the Mega Drive on this date which would go on to have 10 sequels
05/15/1992	Mortal Kombat arrives	As a response to Capcom's Street Fighter II Midway released Mortal Kombat. This game was higly controversal as there was a lot of gore in this game which would spark the use of gore in games released in later years, this also sparked the video game rivalry between the Mortal Kombat and Street fighter franchise
11/22/1994	The godfather of fighting	the first virtua fighter was released on this date and it was the best fighting game of it's time. today it is considered as the "godfather of fighting games" because it was the first fighting game to be in 3-d which would be used in other fighting games released later such as the Tekken and Mortal Kombat series
09/29/1995	Playstation has been unleashed	The first console by sony has been released and it is one of the best selling consoles as it sold 102 million consoles worldwide
01/31/1997	Final Fantasy strikes again	Final Fantasy 7 was released to the PS1 and it was the most succesful Final Fantasy game as it sold over 9 million copies worldwide and it was the second best selling PS1 game of all time
03/01/1997	arrise the Nintendo 64	The N64 was released alon with super mario 64 which was the first super mario game to be in 3D, also this holds the exclusive FPS game goldeneye which is considered as one of the greatest FPS games of all time because of this and mario 64 the popularity of this console skyrocketed
08/25/1997	Going for Gold	007 Goldeneye was released on the N64 and it was the first major first-person shooter to be released on the N64
05/10/1999	Gotta Catch em all	Pokemon red and blue versions were released onto the gameboy, this game was based on the smash hit anime. this has been considered the best RPG game of all time from various reviews still made today
11/24/2000	PS2 is Born	The second playstation console the PS2 was released and it was highly successful as it was the first games console to be able to play DVDs and it is the best selling console as it has sold over 140 million consoles worldwide
03/14/2002	Microsoft makes a console	The first console ever made by microsoft called the X-Box is released
03/11/2005	The Dual screened handheld console	Nintendo released yet another console but this time it was handheld and it had a touch screen and an Lcd screen. this was known as the Nintendo DS
09/01/2005	Playstation portable	Sony released another console but it was handheld it was the PSP. the PSP rivaled the DS as they were both handeheld but unfortunatly for sony the DS sold more than PSP which was superior in graphics and media capabilities
11/22/2005	Microsoft does it again	Microsoft released another console known as the X-Box 360 which was superior to the PS2 in graphics and audio
11/11/2006	Sony strikes Back	Sony release's the PS which was the first console to introduce Blu-ray disc and free internet caperbilities
11/19/2006	I need a Wii	The Nintendo console known as the Wii was released on this date and it was the first console to have a remote controlle themed joypad
