01/01/1812 Birth Charlotte was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The exact day is unknown.
01/01/1822 Ran away from orphanage Charlotte ran away from the orphanage and became a stable boy in Worcester, Massachusetts and later in Providence, Rhode Island.
01/01/1849 California Stage Company Charlotte went to California to work for the California Stage Company.
01/01/1850 Charlotte became "One-Eyed Charley" Shortly after moving to California, Charlotte was kicked in the eye by a horse and lost sight in that eye.
01/01/1867 Retired, bought ranch and ran stage station In the late 1860s, Charlotte retired from driving stagecoaches, bought a ranch in Santa Cruz, CA and ran a stage station.
11/03/1868 Voted in Presidential Election Charlotte voted in the U.S. Presidential Election. She was the first known woman to vote in a federal election.
12/22/1879 Death Charlotte died from cancer of the mouth and was discovered to be a woman!
