11/20/2007	Government claims Coyners took bribe	"On Nov. 20, 2007, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Conyers met with an individual sent by Rayford Jackson in the parking lot at Butzel Family Center and received an envelope containing cash."
11/28/2007	Coyners changes her vote on Synagro	Coyners changes her position, casts the deciding vote on a $1.2 billion sludge-hauling contract for Synagro Technologies Inc. of Texas.
12/04/2007	Government claims Coyners took second bribe	On Dec. 4, 2007, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an individual sent by Rayford Jackson met Conyers and her aide in a McDonald’s parking lot in Detroit at which time the individual delivered an envelope containing cash.
03/18/2008	Coyners backs Kilpatrick in text scandal	Conyers is the only city council member to vote against a resolution demanding Kwame Kilpatrick resigns after the text scandal.
04/11/2008	Coyners calls Ken Cockrel 'Shrek'	Conyers and Cockrel at Detroit City Council meetingConyers gets into an argument with Council President Kenneth Cockrel when he cuts her off during debate about Kilpatrick. She repeatedly calls him "Shrek" and tells him "Grow up! Control your house and you'll know how to treat women better."

10/10/2008	Coyners' aide gets $90,000 settlement from city.	Detroit City Council OKs a $90,000 settlement to end a lawsuit from Yakima Washington, a former aide whose suit would have alleged she was fired for refusing to run errands for Conyers.
11/11/2008	Conyers takes security detail to Orlando	Conyers draws heat for taking two police officers to Orlando for National League of Cities conference as security guards. Her spokeswoman's response: "She is next in line to be mayor. She absolutely needs that security."
01/22/2009	Conyers repays part of travel advances.	Repays $3,000 in travel advances to the pension board, which claims she owed $5,600. Conyers says, "My job is to serve the people of Detroit, and that's what I do."
02/11/2009	Police drive Conyers' son to private school	Uses cops to drive her son to school in the suburbs. Her spokeswoman says police insisted on the security. Later, Conyers tells WMXD 92.3 FM the media make much ado about nothing. "If it's only raining in one spot, Monica Conyers made it happen. It's always Monica, Monica, Monica, Monica. I guess they like my name."

Eggs on colleague Barbara-Rose Collins during a speech about imperialism and Cobo that ends with "Onward Christian Soldiers." As Collins complains that suburbanites have called the City Council "racist" and "stupid," Conyers keeps repeating "monkeys" until Collins utters the word. It becomes another YouTube sensation.
04/02/2009	Conyers vs. Sheila Cockrel	Conyers gets into a closed-door argument with Councilwoman Sheila Cockrel, telling her to "shut the (expletive) up" and asking if she "needs a man." The incident prompts colleagues to draft a resolution for censure and inquire about her well-being. 06/26/2009	Conyers is implicated in the Synagro Technologies investigation	Conyers is implicated in the Synagro Technologies investigation. It was alleged she accepted bribes of more than $6,000 to use her deciding vote on the council to award Synagro a city sludge-hauling contract worth $1.2 million. Ten days later she was charged with conspiracy to commit bribery. She pleaded guilty.
