Picture1_tiny 05/09/1827 The first pernament image. Sometime in the summer of 1827 Joseph Nicéphore Niépce is credited with producing the world's first photograph, a picture of buildings visible from the rooftop of his home.
1st_pic_of_a_person_tiny 09/09/1838 The first photo of a person was taken. Generally accepted to be 1838 or 1839, by Louis Daguerre. The unknown person stopped to have his shoes shined during the 10 minute exposure. If not for this, his presence, like everyone else in the street, would not have been captured due to the long exposure.
