Egyptians[1]_tiny 01/01/1901 Egyptions dicoverhow to make bread using yeast. This is important because the Egyptians were the first known people who know how to make food and they passed it down to other generations .This was the begining of food and this would influence food comapanies to make it more advanced and possibly make it genetically modified. (Really supposed to be 400 A.D)
Patent_pending1[1]_tiny 01/01/1983 US patents awarded companies such as Biocyte in the EU producing genetically engineered food. Companies that are being awarded with GM food make the other food companies think that it is o.k to produce and sell GM foods to consumers.
Fda_350_0[1]_tiny 01/01/1993 US Foods and Drug Administration declares GM not inheratly dangerous GM foods that are not inheartly dangerous make people loosen up on the idea that it is dangerous to health. Comapnies such as Monsanto would take advantage of the statement that the FDA made and make their products worse.
Genetically-modified-foods[1]_tiny 01/01/1994 The first genetically engenired food product, the FlavrSavr tamoto, recives US Food and Drug administartion approved The FlavrSavr is the product that started the whole factor of geneticaly modified food. Being approved by the highest food approvel in the united states caused other companies to begin tinking about the idea of GM foods.
Rr_soybean_y2k_pms_c[1]_tiny 01/01/1996 Monsanto's Roundup Ready Soybeans importation was approved by the EU in foods for humans and animals. This was grown in the U.S by the company Calgene. The soya bean were approved within two years and this is impactful because if one of Mansantos products can get approved with possible GM in it , they will soon let this happen in the future, and possibly make every one of their products have GM food in it.
Genetically_modified_gmo_warning_label_sticker-p217281143599402205qjcl_400[1]_tiny 09/01/1998 The European Union,EU, passed the legeslation in september requring the labeling if GM food Having GM products being labeled makes the US consumers wonder about GM foods in their products and could cause contraversy and hatred towrds the companies such as Monsanto.
{3643730b-eb43-408d-b87b-5c2f55be34fd}_zambia[1]_tiny 01/01/2000 Even though they wee going through a food crisis . Zambia rejected the food aid of GM corn. This is impactful because the GM food that isnt being labled is leaving the people who are in a crisis not trusting companies that specialize in GMO food such as Monsanto.
Gm label[1]_tiny 01/01/2006 in the united staes 89% of soybeans , 83% of cotten, and 61% of corn were genetically modifoed This is impactful because in our time now ,2011, the percentages probably skyrockted and this makes me concluded that we eat a lot of GM food today becuse companies that specialize in this are cauzing the hazards of what we are eating.
2007-11-21_103414bantoxics[1]_tiny 01/01/2007 Europeun Food Saftey Authority concludes that antibiotic resistence marker genes in GM plants do not pose a relevent risk o human or animal health or to the enviorment After 11 years the conclusion about GM food is that it does not pose a relevent risk , this will make consumers think that GM food is safe, making companies such as Monsanto make their products able to make their products meet the critera of what the EU says about GM food.
Hendrik-a-verfaillie-and-mons[1]_tiny 01/01/2010 Monsanto corparation through its Indian subsidairy Machyco unsucessfully attempted to introduce Btbringal . India does not apporve of the idea of GM food ,so India will not allow the products to sell possibly beacuse India does not want something from Monsanto selling products to its citizens.
Genetically-engineered-food-by[1]_tiny 02/23/2030 Our future food Based on my timeline and the date about the percentages we will be eating GM food in our futre.
